I'm a poster designer, screenprinter, and amateur carpenter based in Providence, Rhode Island (though occasionally found in Worcester, MA). I graduated from architecture school in 2005. Right now I'm working on three major things:
- understanding buildings and spaces, looking at systems and construction as well as how different spatial arrangements affect human relationships.
- practicing letting go of my own instinct for control: over the space around me, over my own creativity & actions, and over other people's actions.
- developing collaborative design & creation processes in which knowledge is shared and grows, rather being than handed down from above.
These three goals provide the impetus for all the projects I'm involved with: making prints and posters, facilitating participatory art installations, collaboratively rebuilding a collective kitchen, researching and observing buildings, and sharing printmaking skills and techniques—
... as well as riding my bike in the city, cooking food, washing dishes, and keeping the litter box clean.
